What Is A Baby Shower Without Games?

Baby showers are thrown for a mother-to-be by friends and or family members.  Usually baby shower are hosted soon before the baby is due.  Gifts are given, such as baby clothes, blankets, and other baby related items that the mother will need.  What really makes baby showers a blast is the games that are played.  The host or hosts of the party will usually have the prizes and game materials.  There are many games that are played at baby showers, but here are a few that are the most popular.

* Guess Mom's Tummy Size

This game is played using any number of materials, but usually toilet paper or yarn.  Each woman at the party takes the material and tries to guess how round the mother-to-be's belly is. They then each wrap the material around her tummy and whoever is the closest wins.

* Don't Say Baby

In this game, each woman is given a safety pin and they pin in on their shirt, their pants, wherever.  At the start of the game, nobody is allowed to say baby.  As soon as someone does, they lose their pin.  The game will continue throughout the party until only one person left has a safety pin.

* How Many Baby Items Can You Name

In this game, each woman is given a pen and a pad of paper.  Under a given time limit, everyone must list as many baby items as they can think of, for example, blanket, bottle, pacifier, formula, and anything that has to do with babies.  As time runs out, the woman with the most items wins.

* Guess the Gerber's

Before this game is played, the host or an appointed person will take about 10 or so baby food containers and they will take the labels off of each one.  Everyone takes a guess on each one as to what it is, example being carrots, bananas, or any type of baby food.  The woman that gets the most right wins.

* Guess How Many Safety Pins

The host or appointed person will fill a jar with a certain amount of safety pins in it.  It is then passed among the crowd and each person takes a guess at how many safety pins are in the jar. The woman that gets the closest to the actual number in the jar wins.

* Baby Races

This game is a really fun one to play.  Bottles filled with a beverage, preferably milk, are handed to each guest.  Everyone drinks the bottle just as a baby would.  Whoever finishes their bottle first wins.

* Guess the Chocolate

This game is guaranteed to have everyone laughing.  Approximately 10 diapers are filled with different kinds of melted chocolate.  Each guest must guess what kind of chocolate it is.  It is best to use chocolate with nut's, caramel, ect.

Baby shower games make the whole baby shower come to life.  They make a happy time in a woman's life and make it even more fun.
